Hi all! Thought i'd get the ball rolling on this feedback board.

I'm new to doing sound design for film and this is my first proper attempt at doing it, i'd appreciate some feedback on it. I used no commercial libraries and recorded/created everything by myself.

Thanks.

Good stuff, Andrew. I edited your post to include the video within the posting. Hopefully this will make it easier to view and encourage some feedback.

Nice job, Andrew, especially with not using any library sounds. I liked the siren and the gun effects, and the atmospherics were pretty solid. I like the subtle metal creaks throughout. I found myself wanting the footsteps on the deck plating to be a bit more metallic, though they had a great weight to them. The door mechanics are cool but I'd love for the door closes to have a little more force.

Overall, very cool! Thanks for sharing it.

Well done Andrew!
Very good considering you used no sound libraries. I really liked how you used little "sweetners" such as creaks and drips to emphasise the cuts, however i thought the low bass atmos got a little tiring after a while, i'm not sure if that was there all the time but its worth changing things up throughout the tracklay.

The gun effects were awesome and sounded very much like they were in a narrow space.
I agree with Joe that the footsteps and body armour needed to be more klinky and klenky but the sync of the steps were very good!
The breaths were really good but I think you need more of them, even on the mid/wide shots so we stay with the character, that is very important on a scene like this when you don't know whats lurking around the corner.

Really awesome job on the whole :D :D :D

Wow, didn't expect such good feedback thanks guys.

Yeah I agree the footsteps need more weight just found it hard to get a balance between them having weight and the metallic sound. Had that feedback about the background atoms before, I'll remember that for my next project. Need a lot more variation in it.

Thanks again! :D
