9 Sounds That No One Can Explain
Fun little list here of unique sounds in history: http://time.com/3829795/9-unexplained-sounds/
Re: 9 Sounds That No One Can Explain
The Hum is terrifying. Is crypto field recordist a viable career path?
I happened to jump to the same clip in the video for The Hum and Skyquakes. The Skyquakes one has audio added.
The Hum

Skyquakes
https://youtu.be/0KgKkJXLsOo?t=43
Doesn't mean it didn't happen but that skyquakes one sure does have some wide-stereo sounds for onboard video mics

Ah, I love these, right up with the weird sounds of number stations!
A few years ago, a friend and I stumbled across these crazy "trumpet of the apocalypse" videos on youtube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCAgmtB4j7w
We did partially reproduce that sound using a Rhodes run through a pair of Live's Resonators (I'll have to find the files), but occasionally we'll hear something like a distant car on the freeway that sounds an awful lot like "the sound".
Another really fun one was what the Russian Navy referred to as "Quackers", which have since been determined to be an abnormal call of Antarctic minke whales. There are some cool and weird sounds out there!
