Cool, let's move forward with the "walla/crowds" library. I'll be all over southern Italy for the next month so hopefully I can capture some nice stuff there along with some more recordings here in the states.

I'm not associated with any/many social network groups so please spread the word about the library! I'm going to put an official post together later today that we can link to.

Cheers!

So far the focus has been on recorded material...would there be any interest in doing a designed sound library? Whooshes, impacts, stings, etc? I know we all typically create our own anyway since they need to fit into the particular projects we work on, but I've run into plenty of times where I'm up against a deadline and wish I had some more options than the libraries I've already got.

Thoughts?

I would love so much to do the gears and pulleys.

Melee would be interesting too. Guns is trickier since everyone don't have access to a gun range (Although I would love to do a library like that, preferably in the spring/summer when more activity is available here up north)

In a melee libray we could have:
Punches, kicks, punching bags, meat, leather, vegetables etc
Foley, like body falls, swishes, cloth and armor movements
Voices, like grunting/effort sets.

I tried to update the poll on the first page but the site didn't like it. It nuked the previous votes unfortunately, but now I know for next time and will just create a new thread.

I'm really interested in getting a "winter" library together. What does everyone else think?

I would love to be a part of "Winter'y" sound archive.
Great idea!
A thing I would like add'ed would be interior winds in shacks, barns, old creaky houses.
I am finding myself constantly searching for those kinda sounds in my archive.

I like the Winter idea as well - especially as I'm in Chicago and can probably get some good stuff over what promises to be a pretty nasty season.

Great idea, boasdal. I'll second the creaky library for next time.
