Re: The "Crowds" Library
Great stuff, Alex! One request I might have is to not use abbreviations for these libraries. I'm taking a guess here and assuming a decent amount of contributors wont have a file searching database equivalent to Soundminer's capabilities. Without the abbreviations in the file names, people can do s...

Re: Antonio Blanca's Dron-e
Sounds cool! I'm going to try and check it out this week. It's awesome, can't recommend it highly enough! Hope you find it useful. Also, with all this discussion of software, I have to wonder if it might be interesting to set up some kind of preset-sharing board on the forum so members with the sam...

Re: Using Various EQs
The DMG Equallity is pretty rocking. It has analogue, digital and lin-phase settings. Its clean, has a huge amount of features and also allows you to preview the spectrum with an analyser. Seconded, EQuality is my go-to EQ these days. I know plenty of guys that swear by Waves Q10, and many people a...

Antonio Blanca's Dron-e
Another Reaktor patch that I can't say enough positive things about: Dron-e from Antonio Blanca, distributed by Twisted Tools. Awesome ambience/noise generation based on midi triggers. Lots of parameters to change every aspect of your sound design, endless possibilities, and fantastic quality audio....

Re: The "Crowds" Library
That sounds great! Echoing what Mr. Niederquell says, any conventions or standardisations would be great to hear and learn about. I've just started editing some of my recordings, so far I've labelled out the metadata like this - Location - Broad Definition - Description - Recorder - Recordist Initi...

MeltedSounds Whoosh
Have been working on a few projects recently are a little more design-intensive, and wanted to share a Reaktor ensemble with everyone here just in case anyone hasn't stumbled across it yet: MeltedSounds Whoosh http://meltedsounds.com/Products/index.html [vimeo]http://vimeo.com/98440165[/vimeo] The l...

Re: Idea Pool for A New Crowdsourced Library
So far the focus has been on recorded material...would there be any interest in doing a designed sound library? Whooshes, impacts, stings, etc? I know we all typically create our own anyway since they need to fit into the particular projects we work on, but I've run into plenty of times where I'm up...

Re: The "Crowds" Library
Got some great stuff from a trip to the Zoo this week that I'll put towards the library, hopefully will prove useful. File Naming: I'm open to suggestions for the naming convention on this project. Please respond in this thread if you have any thoughts on how we should structure it. Please keep fil...

Re: Half-speed playback
I've found that half-speed playback is great for checking sync against picture quickly, especially if you have complex routing in Pro Tools that isn't conducive to just using the Scrub function across a track.
