Re: The Sound Design Behind "Where Are You Now"
Yeah, that video is great. I also like the song, especially the B section. The manipulated vocal melody is so hot. The NYTimes does some really good music feature pieces. If you liked that, you'll probably also like this piece about the Kronos Quartet and communication. http://www.nytimes.com/intera...

Re: Home Listening Setup
I have a 5.1 setup in the living room, and although speaker placement is not terrible, it's also not ideal. That gets used for watching TV, movies, and playing console games. In my office/den I have a nicer stereo setup with Neumann KH120 monitors where I play all my PC games. I'd love to have a ful...

Re: Gibberish Vocal Performances

For cartoony gibberish, I love the minions in Despicable Me.

All right! I'm in too. I'm in New York City and could do something here, or slightly outside the city.

Re: OP-1 From Teenage Engineering
I've also been eyeing the OP-1 for a very long time now. Anyone have some experience with it? I agree that $850 seems like a lot, especially when you factor in buying all the little physical controllers...

Re: Half-speed playback
I've actually never used the different playback speeds for work. I should give it a try... But the other day, quite by accident, I did notice that not only can you play back at half speed in Pro Tools with shift+space, you can also play back at a variety of other speeds with the numpad. Try using ct...
